Dry Hair and Scalp Treatment

Best Dry Hair and Scalp Treatment Tips

Who doesn’t want soft hair? Everybody does, right? Not everyone is gifted with that. Not everyone has healthy hair. We all want hair that is shiny and healthy but everyone can only be categorized into having oily, dry or normal hair. Each of these types has its pros and cons but nothing can be sadder than having dry hair as it is brittle, rough and frizzy. The hair is lifeless and limp. And talk about falling hair!

One of the reasons why hair is dry is due to the fact that it lacks the moisture it needs. When hair is damaged, the cuticle becomes dry and porous, leading it to retain water less.

The drying of the hair can be caused my many factors. These can be due to chemical damage. When we subject our hair to extensive chemical processes like dyeing, perming or bleaching, it can lose its shine.

Another cause of dry hair is the applying too much heat on hair. When we iron our hair, we apply heat that is too much to handle by our hair.

Dry hair can be a sign of an underlying illness or deficiency, like hypothyroidism and Menke’s syndrome, the inability of the body to absorb copper.

When you have dry hair, one of the dire side effects would be hair loss. You can avoid this by infrequent washings of hair. You don’t need to wash your hair every day. Shampoos and conditioners have harsh chemical that will ultimately damage your hair. Choose shampoos with low pH and proteins that will strengthen the hair.

Use products that have humectants. Humectants attract moisture so this keeps the hair moist. Protect your hair from heat. Thi means do not iron or curl your hair that often. When you go out, be sure to put something on to cover your head with some protective gear like a scarf or wide-brimmed hat.

Noxzema Review

Noxzema Review

I have never found an everyday acne product that worked for me. Most of the time, this was because it was something I forgot to apply or when I did remember to apply it consistently, it did absolutely nothing. Once my doctor gave me something that had been expired for about six months!

When my grandma gave me Noxzema, I was willing to give it a try. I was looking for a good skin cleanser that would remove my makeup and make my skin pretty. I don’t have really bad acne, but I do have persistent, always there acne on my face, neck, shoulders and back. It’s getting better everywhere except for my neck and face. I also had oily/combination skin. It hasn’t ever been too bad; nothing a little bit of soap and water can’t take care of. I tried this for about two weeks.

The first week, my pimples got a bit worse and my face was really oily the next morning. I popped the pimples (yes, this is gross and bad for your skin, but it made them go down so I was happy.), and washed my face. All in all, I was washing my face three times. Which is fine with me—there’s nothing wrong with washing your face.

The next, I had a bad reaction to this and Blistex accidentally mixed. I use Blistex, I was using Noxzema…it wasn’t pretty. The day after, I gave up the Noxzema.

I wanted to like this, but it just didn’t work for me. My grandmother attempted to tell me I was using it wrong—but she has dry/normal skin. I think for those skin types, this is an excellent product. It did take care of the side of my face which had a few flakes, but there are better products for me. Honestly, I liked the smell and the way this felt on my skin. If it had worked for me, I’d love it.

Makeup – Some 2010 Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy

Makeup Some 2010 Tips To Keep Your Skin Healthy

Many women around the world look to makeup to have a beautiful appearance. The problem comes in where continuous application of all sorts of products eventually takes its toll on your skin and you can and up with dry, damaged skin. To help keep your skin healthy there is a number of things you should keep in mind.

Moisturize: By using a moisturizer you will help to keep your skin moist and looking healthy. It will also help when it comes to makeup application, making for a smoother process.

Powder: When it comes to powder, less is more. The more powder you use the more fake your makeup job will look, and the more substances your skin has to deal with. This can clog your pores and lead to a whole new range of issues.

Lipstick: You may have fantasies about looking like all those gorgeous movie stars with the red lips, but looking like that all the time can take its toll. Lips were not meant to endure layer after layer of lipstick, so if you do use it a lot, try to get ones that will moisturize your lips as well.

Makeup remover: Makeup remover is your best friend at the end of the night. While manufacturers make products to last 24 hours, this is never a good idea if you think of the range of chemicals and substances you put on your face during any given makeup session. Always invest in a good remover and make sure you go to bed with clear skin.

Labels: Many women buy what everyone else is using, but it is very important that you read the labels. You want makeup that is chemical-free, non-toxic, and that does not cause any allergic reactions. This will go a long way to keeping your skin healthy.
